Model eyes Miss Tourism Universe title

TWENTY-SIX-year-old model Sharon Rutsito has her eyes set on the Miss Tourism Universe title, set for Lebanon in September.

“I will be representing Zimbabwe at Miss Tourism Universe 2016. It is going to be held in Lebanon in the month of September, dates might change but it has been set for the 17th.

“I went through online pageant — World Next Top Model Zimbabwe and I was the runner-up so I am going for Miss Universe in Lebanon,” she said

The model says she is currently in the process of hunting for sponsorship and funding for her to be able to participate at the pageant.

“I should be travelling to Lebanon at the end of August for camp and right now I am seeking sponsorship and funding which will cater for my stay there and my participation in the competition,” she said.

When Miss Global was founded in 2012, Rutsito was one of the contestants. In preparation to the pageant she donated sanitary goods to female prisoners at Chikurubi Maximum Prison as part of her community development initiative..

She donated goods worth $643 to 243 female prisoners at the facility. Some of the goods include hair food, exercise books, pencils, hair removers, sugar, soap and others.

“Coming here is part of lessons from church through the Zaoga child evangelism whereby we are taught to look after others. I realised that you can help anyone, anywhere and the prison was just a good place. “I once contributed to Chiedza Child Care Centre where I donated clothes which I had sourced from different people and organisations,” she said.
